Scholarship Central

All 2012 scholarship applicants will receive a letter in late June informing them of the outcome of their application.

One Application Opens the Door

ScholarshipsGreater Worcester Community Foundation offers many scholarship awards that help local students to continue their education after high school. Awards are made through an annual, competitive selection process that takes place from March through June. By completing one application, you may be considered for any of the scholarships for which you are eligible.

Students and Criteria

Each of our scholarship funds has special criteria established by our donors. The qualifications of each applicant will be matched accordingly. Most scholarship awards are open only to residents of the cities and towns within Worcester County. Those with an asterisk (*) are specifically designed for older students.

Scholarships vary in size from $250 to $5,000, depending on the size of the fund and the criteria set by the donors. Many of the awards are renewable.

How it Works

Every complete application received by the deadline will be given full consideration. Based on the materials submitted, we will evaluate the student’s performance, financial need, and other criteria specified by individual scholarships. If an interview with a selection committee is required by the fund, any student selected as a finalist will be notified with details about time and location.

All applicants will be notified by June 30. Awards are paid in one installment in early August. All checks are made payable and sent directly to the college. Questions? Call (508) 755-0980 or send an email to scholar@greaterworcester.org.
