Worcester Historical Museum
For 125 years the Worcester Historical
Museum has been collecting,
preserving and interpreting Worcester's
history. To commemorate this special
anniversary and to ensure the
organization's long-term viability,
the Museum created this agency
endowment fund.
Helen M. and Thomas B. Stinson Fund
Helen and Tommy Stinson were active citizens in Worcester for over forty
years. Tommy Stinson was a principal in Stark, Johnson, & Stinson Insurance
Agency and volunteered for numerous civic and cultural institutions. To remember
two organizations that mattered most to them, Helen started this fund which
will be added to through a planned gift to support the Worcester Art Museum
and All Saints Episcopal Church.
Richard C. Daniels Fund
Richard C. "Dick" Daniels retired to Florida but never forgot his Worcester
home. A former director of religious education at First Baptist Church, he
was a benefactor of the churchs education facility. He has endowed a
scholarship at Clark University and contributed to the refurbishment of their
theater. Even after his death in 2001, Dicks legacy of kindness will
continue through this bequest to create a permanent discretionary fund.
Maureen Logan Coghlin Fund
Since 1885 the Coghlin name has been synonymous with innovation. Electricity
was a new invention when the son of a boot maker in Southborough, John P.
Coghlin, became intrigued by the marvels of modern technology. His descendent
Edwin B. "Ted" Coghlin, Jr. is president of Coghlin Construction
Services, Inc., part of the expanded and diversified Coghlin family enterprise.
To pursue his passion for community betterment, he created this donor-advised
fund in honor of his wife Maureen Logan Coghlin. She and their daughters will
serve as fund advisors. To maximize his resources, Ted gave shares of his
privately-held company to start this fund.
Mary B. Grogan Fund
Mary Grogan was a beloved educator who served as a 4-H volunteer for over
fifty years; she was instrumental to the organization's growth in Millbury.
When the board recently determined to dissolve the 4-H of Worcester County
Foundation; proceeds from the sale of property were used to create this Fund.
It is a lasting legacy to Mary Grogan's service to young people and her town.
The Fund will support programs for Millbury youth involving the natural environment,
agriculture, horticulture, and animal life.
The Robert M. and Carolyn G. Hyde Fund
For years the rural landscapes of Central Massachusetts have provided
special pleasure for West Boylston residents Bob and Carol Hyde. Enthusiastic
canoeists, they have spent many hours exploring the streams, rivers and small
ponds of the area. Their interest has led them to establish a field of interest
fund to preserve and enhance the environment and natural beauty of Worcester
County.
Laurie C. Tinsley Memorial Scholarship
Laurie was a loving mother of seven boys, a dedicated teacher and an active
member of her community. When Laurie died at the age of 44, her husband's
colleagues at the National Association of Insurance and Financial Agents -
Central Massachusetts created a scholarship to help Worcester County high
school graduates with financial need due to the death or disability of a parent.
