Apply for a Grant

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Please review the specific goals and guidelines for the grant program you are interested in. You may also want to review our annual report and grants listings for further information, and feel free to call the contact person for guidance and clarification.

Be sure to give us the name of a contact person who will be available to answer questions during the review process, and to secure the signature of the executive director/CEO.

One set of these materials is adequate; no copies are needed.

Do not staple or double-side any of the following items required for a complete application:

  1. Coversheet: MS Word

    MS Word form may be saved for further editing, printing or archiving. Download the document, then "Save As".
  2. Narrative: In no more than four pages, please tell us: (a) organizational purpose and how you address the goals of the fund; (b) your specific plans to achieve results and your basis for adopting the proposed strategy; (c) indications of progress toward the desired impact; how you understand if you are making a difference; and (d) changes and enhancements, if this program is already underway.

  5. For all arts and culture organizations and programs only: Complete a Cultural Data Project profile for TWO most recent fiscal years. Complete instructions are available. Be sure to submit the Greater Worcester Community Foundation Funder Report.

    For all other organizations and programs: Complete a 3-year financial trend report form, MS Excel, detailing change in
  6. List of board members: name, town of residence, and professional affiliations, and identify board officers
  7. Enclose the progress report if this is a renewal; progress reports must be filed on all previously funded grants in order for your application to be considered.
  8. Letters of agreement with collaborators as applicable
  9. Relevant supporting materials are optional; please limit to three items
  10. A copy of your 501(c)(3) Federal tax exemption letter (or that of fiscal sponsor)
  11. Audited financial statements for two most recent years are required for organizations with more than $500,000 in gross support and revenue. Organizations with $200,000 in revenue are required to submit an independent certified public accountant’s review report, as required by Massachusetts General Law and described by the office of the Attorney General. Smaller organizations must submit its most recent Form 990.

AFTER YOUR APPLICATION IS RECEIVED

You will receive a confirmation once your complete application is received. Every complete and eligible application received by the deadline is given full consideration. You will be contacted by a foundation staff member during the review process. Applications that are incomplete will be returned and not reviewed.

All applicants will be sent a letter of approval or denial at the conclusion of the review process.

 

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Complete proposal packets must be received in our office by 5:00 pm on the published deadline dates (or the next business day if a weekend or public holiday).
