Worcester, MA -- Worcester, MA -- The Auburn Foundation, an endowed fund of Greater Worcester Community Foundation, will distribute approximately $16,000 in spring 2010 to qualified nonprofit organizations to improve the quality of life for Auburn residents, create a more vibrant community and encourage cooperative action among its citizens.
An information session will be held at the Auburn Senior Center at 4 Goddard Street, Auburn, on Monday, February 22 at 4:00 pm. This will be an opportunity for grant seekers to learn more about The Auburn Foundation’s focus areas and application requirements. Applications must be submitted to Greater Worcester Community Foundation by 5:00 pm on Thursday, April 1, 2010. The foundation is located at 370 Main Street, Suite 650, Worcester, MA 01608. The Auburn Foundation is a permanent charitable resource created in 2002 by lifelong residents Arthur M. Pappas, M.D. and Martha R. Pappas. A volunteer advisory committee comprised Auburn citizens will review grant proposals and recommend awards. Past grants have supported youth and senior programs, health and human services, and cultural events. Grants generally range from $500 to $5,000.
