Foundation Partners with Cultural Data Project

Worcester, MA - Greater Worcester Community Foundation has partnered with Massachusetts Cultural Data Project (CDP) to provide the community with consistent, reliable and comprehensive data on arts and culture in the state.

Beginning March 15, 2010, the Foundation will require arts- and culture-related nonprofit organizations and programs to complete an annual comprehensive profile through the CDP and submit a Funder Report with all discretionary grant applications. The data will be used to encourage policy, donor interest and investment in the cultural sector.

Through the on-line CDP database, applicants will also benefit from in-depth trend analysis, peer-to-peer benchmarking, enhanced financial management capacity and streamlined data entry when applying to multiple funders.

The Massachusetts CDP, operated by The Pew Charitable Trusts, is the first management tool of its kind, and a state-wide, collaborative effort of public and private funders throughout Massachusetts. CDP staff review data and provide suggestions and assistance to applicants.

Other CDP partners include the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Barr Foundation, Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and The Boston Foundation.
