The
Worcester Foundation Forum is a gathering of grantmakers private foundations,
corporate giving programs, and public foundations who seek to strengthen
their knowledge of and connection with local nonprofit issues in order to
maximize their charitable giving. The Foundation Forum was started in 1991
at the prompting of a community-wide problem-solving process called "Living
Here Tomorrow" which recommended a foundation forum as one of several
key actions to "build a climate for collaboration."
Membership is open to trustees and chief staff of organized philanthropies whose annual giving in the Worcester region is $250,000 or above. The Foundation Forum meets several times a year. It receives staffing support from Greater Worcester Community Foundation. The agenda includes a review of local capital campaigns, updates from members and discussion of timely issues with guests and resource people.
