GLBT Partnership
Needs Assessment Survey Results
In spring 2006 , Greater Worcester Community
Foundation launched a groundbreaking survey to research
the strengths and needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgender (GLBT) community in Worcester County.
We are pleased to report that the results are in, with nearly 400 responses from GLBT individuals, aged 12 to 80. Voices of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender People in Worcester County (378KB, PDF) , combines the results of individual surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one leader interviews, revealing topics that are most important to GLBT people from the people themselves:
Individual respondents represented many sectors and sub-constituencies of the community, with a broad diversity of class, racial, and ethnic backgrounds and gender identities. In addition, we received valuable input from area nonprofits to round out our understanding of the community, suggesting many directions to better serve the GLBT population.
