Jeppson Memorial Fund Grants Over $9K to Support Organizations Building Community in Brookfield

 

 

Greater Worcester Community Foundation recently announced the awardees of the Jeppson Memorial Fund for Brookfield. The Fund, established in 1977, provides grants for civic and community projects that help enhance the lives of Brookfield residents and enrich the cultural community. Since its inception, the fund has awarded over $100,000 to support programs benefiting residents of Brookfield. 

Five organizations are receiving funds this year. They are: 

  •  A.P.P.L.E. Seed, Inc.: Awarded $1,500 for operational expenses associated with Apple Country Radio, a new initiative for the organization that furthers their mission of building community identity. 
  •  Audio Journal Inc.: Awarded $860 for support of its Radio Reading program, which provides audio recordings of local news for visually impaired residents of Brookfield. 
  •  Merrick Public Library: Awarded $1,120 for the hiring of performers for two historical performances this fall and next spring that celebrate local history, specifically highlighting local figures from the Revolutionary War. 
  •  Second Chance Animal Shelter: Awarded $1,000 for support of Homebound to the Rescue, a mobile clinic that offers free veterinary services for pets of Brookfield residents. 
  •  Town of Brookfield: Awarded $5,000 to support the development of a new ADA compliant playground and walking trail at Lewis Field in Brookfield.
