GWCF Funds Eight Innovative Partnerships through Its Creative Intersections Initiative

The Foundation's grant program, Creative Intersections, announced the recipients of its second cycle of funding with grants totaling over $64,000. The funding, which is part of the Foundation’s Creative Worcester Initiative partnership with the Barr Foundation, supports collaborations that pair non-arts sector programming with arts organizations and/or individual artists/creatives to address community needs related to social justice, public health, mental health, housing, education, history, culture, identity, environment, or civic engagement.

“One of the Foundation’s priorities is, and will continue to be, creating long-term partnerships within Worcester County’s creative ecosystem,” said Jim Ayres, GWCF’s President & CEO. “We know that both arts programming and community needs are so often overlooked and underfunded. By fostering innovative collaboration between artists, arts organizations and the non-arts sector we not only recognize the contributions of the arts societally but also create new ways exchanging ideas and solving community problems."

The following organizations and projects were awarded a Creative Intersections grant:

Creative Intersections is designed to advance the City of Worcester’s Cultural Plan. It is also part of the Foundation’s Creative Worcester Initiative, a multi-year partnership with the Barr Foundation that unites GWCF with four other Massachusetts community foundations and continues to infuse Worcester’s creative sector with capital and knowledge resources.
